Changes to ICM

All ICM students,

Following recent discussions with management, it was decided that in order to maintain standards and keep the business school as streamlined as possible, we would discontinue ICM effective June of this year.

This would mean that your last ICM exams will take place in June. As an alternative, we will be adding the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management qualification to our ABE Business Management course, details of which, are below:

Diploma Part 1 * Economic Principles and their Application to Business * Organisational Behaviour * Financial Accounting * Travel Tourism and Hospitality

Diploma Part 2 * Marketing Policy, Planning and Communication * Human Resource Management * Travel Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management * Managerial Accounting * Principles of Business Law * Information Technology in Hospitality and Tourism Operations * Customer Service Skills

Advanced Diploma * International Travel Tourism and Hospitality * Sustainable Tourism Planning and Development * Strategic Hospitality Management * Managing in Organisations * Strategic Marketing Management * Strategic Human Resource Management for Business Organisation * Managing the Information Resource

As you can see, the subjects are very similar to ICM with additional subjects such as Customer Service Skills and I.T. in Hospitality and Tourism Operations. In June, ICM students will be able to transfer to ABE and do the tourism course.

ABE is generally considered to be a more prestigious examining body and more widely recognised than ICM. There is unfortunately a downside to this.

Having spoken to ABE, they are very happy to accept ICM students but any qualifications that you already have from ICM will NOT be recognised. In light of this, we are in the process of looking for alternative language schools so you can complete your ICM studies and then if you wish, join ABE.

I therefore strongly recommend that you do as many ICM subjects as you can for the June exam-of course, within your capabilities.

I apologise for any inconvenience and the school will be doing its best to help you further your studies as smoothly as possible. Below is the email sent to me from ABE detailing requirements for current ICM students.

Thank you

Namita
